MD, MSc, Managing Director
Kjell Simonsson has been the Managing Director of the Advisor since its inception in
1999, with responsibility for investment strategies and management. He has been
Chairman of the Board or Board member in several of KIF I’s portfolio companies.
Dr Simonsson is a licensed physician (MD degree from Karolinska Institutet), and has a
Master of Science in Business and Economics (Stockholm School of Economics). He
carried out clinical practice for nine years, specialising in anaesthesia and intensive care.
Before establishing KIF I and its Advisor, he established and managed Aragon Securities
Health Care Research Team. This analysis unit was built up to be one of the largest of its
kind in Sweden at the time. Dr Simonsson’s earlier industrial experience includes senior
management positions at Warner-Lambert AB and Becton Dickinson AB, with international
