MD, PhD, Investment Director
Johan Raud is a medical doctor (MD) and gained a PhD and an
Associate Professorship at Karolinska Institutet
(1980-1996), having completed part of his medical training
at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Before
joining Karolinska Investment Fund, he was employed for five
years by Astra (subsequently AstraZeneca), where he headed
research teams, managed drug discovery projects and was
member of local and global research strategy groups. Dr Raud
also engaged in business intelligence activities and
established and managed a licensing group within the
Discovery unit of Astra Pain Control. During his years as a
researcher and lecturer at Karolinska Institutet, Dr Raud
published more than 70 scientific articles primarily in the
study of inflammation and immunopharmacology. He was
co-founder of Pyrinox AB, and is currently a Board member of
AngioGenetics AB. Dr Raud has
worked with KIF I since 2000.
