Sidec Technologies performs 3-D analysis for the Bristol Institute for Transfusion Sciences and intensifies sales efforts in Europe

Sidec Technologies, Stockholm, Sweden performs 3-D visual analysis for the Bristol Institute for Transfusion Sciences (BITS), UK, in order to investigate the structure and function of red blood cell adhesion molecules.

Sidec's method for 3-D imaging and analysis of macromolecules, SET, will provide a resource to the ongoing project at BITS where the role of red blood cell adhesion molecules in haemopoiesis and sickle cell disease is studied. Mr. Gosta Sjoholm, CEO of Sidec Technologies AB commented, "Sidec's rapid electron tomography method can provide unique 3-D information about interacting molecules and help the research team at BITS to better understanding of molecular function. Professor David Anstee, Director of BITS, describes the results as "very interesting and a helpful tool in the research project". Sidec has recently expanded its organization with a specialized European sales division in order to reinforce it's commitment to the European market.
