Chairman
Lars Gårdö, MBA, is Chairman of 3i Nordic, Atle Industri, Swedfund and
Gadelius, and board member of a number of companies and business
organisations. Since 35 years, Lars Gårdö has held different senior
positions within the industry and financing sectors.
Between 1979 and 1984 he was Executive Vice President and
responsible for finance and acquisitions at Hexagon AB, an
industrial conglomerate listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
Between 1985 and 1993 he was President and CEO at HexaTrade AB
(renamed to AxTrade AB in 1988), a world wide trading and
distribution group with sales exceeding USD 1 billion and listed on
the Stockholm Stock Exchange (acquired by Axel Johnson group in
1993).
Between 1993 and 2001 Lars Gårdö was president and CEO at Atle AB,
an investment company investing in and developing small and
medium-size companies. Atle's core expertise and business was to
acquire interesting companies, develop them and subsequently create
new ownership situations. Atle, which made investments in about 200
companies and carried out exits in more than 100 companies, was
listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 1993 and reached a market
cap of about MSEK 9.500. From the start in 1993 to 2000, earnings
after financial items rose from MSEK 373 to MSEK 943, and the return
on the Atle exits exceeded 50 percent per year. In the spring of
2001, all shares of Atle were acquired by Ratos and the British
company 3i, Europe's leading venture capital company.
